Lofoten - the Archipelago of the Midnight Sun
Off the coast of Norway, north of the Arcitc Circle, lies this outstanding archipelago of Lofoten. Soaring mountains, great expanses of water, sun, wind and light.
The days are endless and the midnight sun is still highest in June.
The wild backdrop of steep 1000meter high mountains never fails to impress, combinde with the wide open spaces of Vesterfjord.
Due to the Gulf Stream the climate is surprisingliy mild.
Inseperably linked to the history of Lofoten is the centuries of old tradition of fishery. The typical wooden constructions used for drying fish are often seen
near the small traditional settlements with their brightly painted wooden houses. These flucks of colour in the wild, wide landscape please the eye. Travelling on the water is moste natural thing on Lofoten.

Our base on Skrova
We store our equipment on the small island of Skrova, east of Svolvaer. Skrova can only be reached by ferry. At one time whaling was an important source
of income for the people on the island. Today, many people on Skrova still live on fishing and salmon farming.
This delighted archipelago is the ideal starting point for our tours.
